"She must find a boat and sail in it, no guarantee of shore. Only a conviction that what she wanted could exist, if she dared to find it. Jeanette Winterson
We often crave certainty—a clear shore in sight, a destination mapped out.
But faith calls us to step into the unknown, not because we are reckless, but because we trust the One who walks on water.
Jesus is in the storm. He is in the waves. He is the one who comes walking toward the boat.
You better believe I’m going to be in that boat.
I want to be where Jesus is, even if it means setting sail with no guarantee of when or how I’ll reach the shore. Because the real destination isn’t the shore at all—it’s Jesus.
I don’t have to dare to find peace; it is in Him.
I don’t have to search for strength; He is my strength.
I don’t have to wonder which way to go; He is the way.
Yes, even when life offers no guarantees of safety or stability, there is a guarantee of a life lived fully in joy when it is found in Jesus.
The Call to Daring Faith
This world is not our home. The places we dwell—our houses, our offices, our carefully constructed plans—are just temporary waiting rooms for a greater journey. And yet, it is here, in the ordinary, that we are called to keep daring.
Daring to trust when we can’t see the outcome.
Daring to step forward when the path is uncertain.
Daring to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author of our journey and the only One who can lead us home.
So, fellow sojourner, I dare you—wherever you are positioned today—to seek Jesus. Whether in the storm or in the stillness, in the unknown or the expected, He is there. The invitation has already been given. Step into the boat. Set sail. Keep your eyes on Him.
Because the shore doesn’t hold the promise. Jesus does.
